Bhakti Sarvabhauma
Doctor of Divinity · 30 doctoral credits · about 8 years.
Study the whole Caitanya-caritamrta and write your thesis — a professor of Vedic knowledge.
About the title. This course prepares students for the ISKCON Board of Examinations (BOEX) Bhakti-sarvabhauma examination, and is aligned to BOEX standards. RVC will seek approval as an Approved Degree Examination Center once the first courses are established; until then, the college does not award the BOEX degree itself.
The Books
Bhakti Sarvabhauma is the study of the full Caitanya-caritamrta — Adi-lila, Madhya-lila in three parts, and Antya-lila — building on everything before it.
The Framework
- Prerequisite: Bhakti Vedanta (Master’s, 42 graduate credits).
- 30 doctoral credits: the Caitanya-caritamrta courses, Sanskrit, the doctoral India pilgrimage practicum, and a 200-page doctoral thesis on an approved topic.
- Sadhana and Sanskrit continue through the course, as at every gate.
Assessment (BOEX Pattern)
Following BOEX standards: open-book assessment, closed-book examinations, sloka recitation and attendance, as for the earlier titles — at the Sarvabhauma gate, together with the doctoral thesis.
Lessons will appear here as partner material (VIHE / Mayapur Institute / Chowpatty BACE, with permission and credit) and RVC’s own material arrive. Nothing here is invented — the framework above is the college’s own, from its prospectus.
